Deputy Minister Ngo Le Van welcomed the Secretary-General and expressed his delight at the positive outcomes of the visit, especially the meeting between the Secretary-General and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh on November 18.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that Vietnam highly values the role of the PCA in supporting the peaceful resolution of international disputes.
He appreciated the PCA's cooperation proposal, especially as Vietnam is swiftly preparing to establish an arbitration center within the International Financial Center, requiring international expertise and experience.
The meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh (on November 18) marked a significant step, highlighting the Vietnamese Government's high regard for the PCA's reputation and experience.
On this occasion, the Deputy Minister proposed that the PCA collaborate on activities within multilateral legal frameworks such as the United Nations General Assembly's Sixth Committee and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
Secretary-General Martin Czepelak expressed gratitude for the warm reception and praised Vietnam's role in international law. He expressed a desire to enhance cooperation with Vietnam, especially as the country is developing an international arbitration center within the International Financial Center.
The Secretary-General committed that the PCA would continue to work closely with Vietnamese authorities to explore suitable and effective cooperation forms, contributing to the establishment, operation, and quality enhancement of the center in the future.
On the occasion of the third anniversary of the PCA Office in Hanoi, both sides agreed to strengthen training cooperation and enhance legal capacity for Vietnamese staff through the PCA Office in Hanoi. They also aim to promote Vietnam as a preferred venue for resolving regional and international disputes.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Ngo Le Van expressed confidence that the cooperation between Vietnam and the PCA would continue to thrive, making substantial contributions to the establishment and operation of the International Financial Center in Vietnam in the near future.
